MachineryLink Direct Mail Brochure

MachineryLink is a Kansas City company that leases John Deere and Case IH combines to large-production farmers during harvest time. MachineryLink asked us to create a direct mail campaign that would (1) tell the MachineryLink story and the benefits of leasing a combine over buying one, and (2) generate excitement about MachineryLink's upcoming event, The Smarter Harvest Tour, in which they drove a branded "Buffalo" combine around to a series of ag trade shows to build awareness about their company.

As with any direct mail campaign, our challenge was break through all the mailbox clutter and leave a lasting impression with these farmers. We wanted to send something that was substantial in format to immediately grab attention. So we created large format (12x16) brochure and large silkscreened (18x24) event poster that were rolled together and placed into a long kraft brown tube hand-addressed to each recipient. The visual language we established for these materials consisted of found textures, handmade brush strokes, ornate frames and simple icons reminiscent of a farmer's almanac — a combination that evokes the day-to-day grittiness of working the farm.
